Reduce Transportation Fees

redeyeflight_1.jpgOn the average 40% of your total travel budget is taken up by transportation fees, including the airline tickets and local transportation, depending on how and when you are going to visit that destination. How can you reduce this 40% to a lower figure?

* Try to arrange a red-eye flight if travel time is not important to you. Typically, from the major airlines, you can get 50% off for a flight at night. However, you generally will need to order hotel room or arrange vehicles to pick you up.

* Avoid traveling during major holidays and school vacations. These are considered prime traveling seasons and nearly everyone is planning his or her travel. During these times tickets and hotel rooms are offered with few discounts. So, if you are able, try to travel outside of the main holidays or weekends instead.
